Job Summary

Cisco is seeking early-career engineers for a backend-focused fullstack development role. The position offers hands-on experience in developing cloud-native distributed systems, real-time streaming solutions, and SaaS applications for the Cisco Spaces platform, which serves global enterprise customers. While backend development in Core Java is the primary focus, this role also provides exposure to frontend development in React and emerging technologies such as AI/ML. Candidates will collaborate with a global team of experts to deliver impactful customer-facing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize backend systems using Core Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.
• Contribute to building real-time streaming services within Cisco Spaces.
• Participate in frontend development using React and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable SaaS components.
• Deploy and manage microservices on cloud platforms (AWS) using containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Work on emerging technologies including AI and ML, and contribute to technical innovation.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong proficiency in Core Java, multithreading, and server-side frameworks (Spring Boot, J2EE).
• Understanding of frontend development, particularly React and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as Postgres or SQL, with skills in query optimization.
• Experience developing SaaS product components (0–2 years entry level, 2+ years considered a plus).
• Familiarity with cloud computing and microservices deployment (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Bonus skills: Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Git, Kotlin, Vertx, WebSockets, Kafka, GraphQL, EKS, CDN.
• Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and technical communication skills.
