Job Summary
This role is for an entry-level Software Engineer in Autodesk’s Observability Engineering team, based in Bengaluru. The engineer will help build and maintain observability solutions that monitor applications and services using tools such as Splunk, OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, and Catchpoint. The position suits candidates with solid Python skills and a strong interest in automation, monitoring, and reliability for large-scale systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate repetitive operational and monitoring tasks using Python and related scripting.
- Support configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of observability platforms including Splunk, Dynatrace, and Catchpoint.
- Assist in instrumenting services with OpenTelemetry for metrics, logs, and traces to improve visibility.
- Collaborate with team members to expand monitoring coverage, enhance reliability, and solve complex issues, including using generative AI–driven approaches.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proficiency in Python with basic exposure to automation.
- Understanding of monitoring and logging concepts and enthusiasm for observability tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with quick learning ability.
- Preferred: familiarity with Splunk queries, OpenTelemetry collectors, APM tools, and git-based CI/CD workflows plus scripting beyond Python.
