Job Summary

The Cloud DBA role at HCLTech involves proactively maintaining the health of databases, with a focus on Oracle database management and associated tools like Data Guard and RMAN. The role requires applying upgrades, monitoring backups, managing users and space, and ensuring standby database synchronization. Optional skills include AWS cloud database management, scripting, and enhancing security compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain overall health and performance of databases.
• Manage Oracle database backups and recovery using RMAN.
• Perform user and space management at database and server level.
• Monitor and maintain Oracle physical standby and replicas; rebuild or re-sync as needed.
• Apply software upgrades, patches, and fixes to the database environment.
• Execute code deployments related to database changes.
• Monitor database long-running queries and provide recommendations.
• Collaborate with backup teams to ensure reliable backup processes.
• Optional responsibilities: Manage AWS cloud databases like RDS, work with AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, Service Catalog, and enhance cloud security compliance.
• Use scripting skills in Unix shell or Python at an intermediate level.

Qualifications & Skills

• Good understanding of RDBMS concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle databases, Data Guard, RMAN, and SQL/PLSQL.
• Knowledge of applying software maintenance upgrades and security patches.
• Experience with database backup monitoring.
• Optional: Experience in AWS cloud and cloud database services (RDS), PostgreSQL, MySQL administration.
• Optional: Intermediate Unix shell or Python scripting skills.
• Must have academic qualifications with at least 60% marks in 10th, 12th, and graduation.
