Job Summary

Flex is seeking a Junior Engineer – MPDM to join its engineering team in Chennai. In this role, you will work on BOM creation, AVL setup, ECO management, and documentation during NPI processes for new product changes. You will be responsible for coordinating with product and process engineering teams globally to ensure smooth implementation of updates. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative product designs in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create part numbers for BOM in Agile & Baan, and set up AVL in Agile & Baan systems.
• Download and release customer documents in CDC.
• Act as Change Analyst during NPI and implement new changes.
• Release part lists to production for new models and after ECO implementation.
• Manage ECO processes using PLM software, including creation, review, routing, tracking, releasing, and distribution.
• Study ECOs/drawings and coordinate with site engineering teams.
• Liaise with engineering and materials teams to review product updates or modifications.
• Respond to customer and business partner queries regarding ECOs.
• Ensure adherence to targets for all process metrics.

Qualifications & Skills

• B.E. (EEE/ECE) or M.Sc (Physics/ECS) with 0–2 years experience in NPI/ECO within a manufacturing setup, preferably EMS industry.
• Hands-on experience in NPI, ECO, BOM management, and PLM software linked to ECO processes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (mandatory).
• Proficiency in MS Office and MS Outlook.
• Strong analytical, coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills.
