Job Summary
Uber is looking for a Decision Scientist Intern to join their team in Bangalore. This 24-week internship will focus on applying data-driven techniques to address complex problems related to risk, fraud, payment, customer support, and mobility. The intern will work closely with engineers, product managers, and analysts to improve key business metrics and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced technology environment. This role blends technical skills with business insight to drive impactful decisions at Uber.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth data analyses to extract actionable insights.
- Develop understanding of Uber’s core business segments including Risk, Compliance, Mobility, and Delivery.
- Collaborate effectively with global teams on projects targeting fraud reduction, operational efficiency, and customer experience improvements.
- Define and communicate performance metrics that influence business decisions.
- Present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
- Participate in ongoing training and business review meetings to grow expertise.
Qualifications & Skills
- Pursuing a B.Tech in CSE, Mathematics & Computing, or IT, graduating in 2026.
- Experience with data ETL, processing, and visualization using SQL and Python.
- Coursework or projects in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or similar quantitative fields.
- Proficient with data visualization tools like Tableau, Google Data Studio, and Excel.
- Understanding of A/B testing, experimentation, and statistical modeling is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
