Job Summary

IDFC SDET role focuses on ensuring the quality and reliability of software products across web, mobile, API, and database layers. The position combines strong automation skills with solid manual testing practices to validate functionality, performance, and data integrity. The SDET will collaborate closely with development and product teams, design robust test strategies, and help drive continuous quality improvements across the technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, document, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for web, mobile, API, and database testing.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium and Appium, identifying areas for increased automation.
• Perform manual functional, regression, performance, and exploratory testing, logging detailed defects and tracking them to closure.
• Conduct end-to-end testing of web and mobile applications, validate APIs and integration points, and ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
• Design, implement, and maintain CI pipelines integrating automated tests to enable early defect detection and efficient deployments.
• Write and execute SQL queries for database testing, validating data integrity, transformations, and migrations, and identifying performance issues.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders, participating in agile ceremonies and contributing on quality aspects of user stories.
• Maintain clear test documentation, including test cases, execution results, and issue reports, updating artifacts as the application evolves.

Qualifications & Skills

• Full-time degree in B.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, M.Tech, BCA, or MCA.
• Strong experience in both automation and manual testing across web, mobile, and API platforms.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Selenium and Appium, and familiarity with CI pipelines for automated testing.
• Proficiency in SQL for database validation, data transformation checks, and performance analysis.
• Good understanding of software testing methodologies, defect life cycle, and agile processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a quality-first mindset.
