Job Summary
IBM India’s Research Intern – Quantum program provides hands-on experience with AI, quantum computing, and cloud technologies. Interns work alongside IBM scientists and engineers, tackling real-world problems, developing cutting-edge solutions, and building enterprise-ready systems. The internship emphasizes innovation, mentorship, and exposure to advanced research projects in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Train, finetune, and infer large language models for enterprise quantum applications
- Develop and prototype AI and quantum computing solutions using Python, Qiskit, and cloud technologies
- Collaborate with IBM researchers and infrastructure teams on industry-defining projects
- Conduct software engineering tasks, document results, and contribute to open-source projects
- Research and implement quantum algorithms, participate in model deployment, and ensure reliability within cloud systems
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field (pursuing or completed)
- Excellent programming skills in Python and Java; familiar with pandas, NumPy, Jupyter notebooks
- Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, linear algebra, probability, and statistics
- Hands-on with Git, VS Code, open-source contributions, cloud-native technologies
- Desired: experience with Qiskit, Rust, quantum algorithms, AI model development, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and secure system design
