Job Summary

IBM is seeking a Back-end Developer Intern to join the Product Engineering support team for z Hardware or the z/OS support team. The intern will design and develop productivity aids for mainframe infrastructure, gaining firsthand exposure to IBM’s mainframe systems and customer expectations. This role requires basic programming skills, knowledge of computer architecture, and strong debugging abilities, with an opportunity to work on cutting-edge enterprise technology in a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of infrastructure productivity tools.
• Support debugging, testing, and lifecycle activities related to enterprise mainframe systems.
• Collaborate with teams to enhance product serviceability and performance.
• Gain hands-on experience with programming, scripting, and system architecture in a mainframe environment.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Fundamental software design and testing knowledge.
• Programming skills in languages such as C, C++, Java, Assembly.
• Scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, Perl, Bash.
• Debugging skills and strong communication ability.
• Preferred knowledge of mainframes, networking, web/mobile development, tools like Git/GitHub, IntelliJ.
