Job Summary
Harman’s ML Engineer will work with senior engineers and data scientists to design, build, and deploy machine learning models that power Harman’s products and services. The role is suited for candidates with 0–2 years of experience who are passionate about machine learning, data science, and AI, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. The engineer will contribute to end‑to‑end ML pipelines, from data preprocessing and feature engineering to experimentation, optimization, and production deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in designing, developing, and implementing machine learning models and algorithms.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical ML solutions.
- Preprocess, clean, and analyze large datasets; perform feature engineering and data augmentation.
- Run experiments, evaluate different ML approaches, and optimize pipelines for performance and scalability.
- Deploy models to production, monitor performance, and document methodologies, processes, and results.
- Stay current with advances in ML, Generative AI, and related technologies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
- 0–2 years’ experience in ML/AI/Deep Learning/NLP, including supervised and unsupervised methods.
- Strong Python skills and hands‑on work with libraries/frameworks such as PyTorch, Keras, scikit‑learn, LangChain, LlamaIndex, ChromaDB, or Qdrant.
- Good understanding of regression, classification, clustering, neural networks, and data mining concepts.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and presentation skills; ability to explain complex ideas to varied audiences.
- Internship or project experience in ML/DS and a portfolio with multiple real‑world or pet projects.
- Preferred: exposure to big‑data tools (Hadoop/Spark/Hive), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, and Agile practices.
