Job Summary

This role involves planning, designing, and developing new software and web applications for Comcast’s products and platforms. The Development Engineer 1 will write, test, and debug code while collaborating with quality assurance and other engineering teams to ensure robust, high‑quality solutions. The position offers the opportunity to work on innovative media and technology products that reach millions of customers, while building a strong foundation in professional software engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and review code for software components and web applications.
• Analyze integration needs and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design evaluations, test results, and manuals.
• Monitor and evaluate competitive products and industry practices relevant to assigned projects.
• Work with QA teams to validate that applications meet specifications and technical requirements.
• Apply standard engineering methodologies and process design/re‑design skills.
• Exercise independent judgment in significant technical and project matters.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance and be available for nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as needed.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of coursework and relevant experience).
• 0–2 years of professional software development experience.
• Solid understanding of software engineering concepts, methodologies, and lifecycle.
• Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Strong documentation skills for technical specifications and test results.
• Capability to work both independently and within cross‑functional teams.
• Commitment to customer‑centric thinking and continuous learning of new tools and technologies.
• Willingness to support inclusive culture and uphold high ethical standards.
