Job Summary

This Data Engineer role at Barclays focuses on designing and maintaining data systems such as pipelines, warehouses, and data lakes to keep data accurate, secure, and accessible. The position involves building analytics capabilities that support digital products and customer-facing solutions in a large-scale financial technology environment. The role is based in Pune and forms part of the Chief Information Security Office technology function.​

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust data architectures and pipelines for reliable, consistent data transfer and processing.​
• Design and implement data warehouses and data lakes with appropriate performance, scalability, and security controls.​
• Develop processing and analysis algorithms and collaborate with data scientists to deploy machine learning models.​
• Take ownership of operational results, risk management, policy adherence, and continuous improvement within the data engineering area.​
• Act as a key contact for stakeholders, guiding team members and communicating complex information effectively.​

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.​
• Essential: Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL, Microsoft SSIS, and Python.​
• Desirable: Knowledge of Tableau, Autosys, cloud data engineering platforms, and IAM domain concepts.​
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve complex problems using technical experience.​
