Job Summary

This entry-level position at Hitachi Energy focuses on generating, editing, and updating technical product documentation for enterprise software used globally. The role requires close collaboration with developers, product managers, UX designers, and other technical writers to produce easy-to-understand documents in plain English. As part of the local R&D team, the position offers a chance to lead documentation projects, clarify technical specifications, and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines. The candidate will report directly to the R&D Team Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently create and update product documentation and descriptions with minimal oversight.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, developers, and other writers.
• Consult with development teams to clarify features and technical details.
• Take a leading role in documentation projects and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines, regulations, and procedures.
• Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical writing, English, communications, or a related discipline.
• 0–3+ years of experience in a technical writing or documentation role; experience writing for technical audiences.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills for plain English documentation.
• Familiarity with recognized international style guides (e.g., Microsoft Manual of Style, AP Stylebook, STE).
• Experience with tools such as Madcap Flare, content management systems, Git, Jira, and Confluence is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to quickly comprehend technical specifications and distill them concisely.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English.
