Job Summary

HSBC is inviting motivated individuals to join as an Intern in Data Science within the International Wealth & Premier Banking division. This role provides hands-on exposure to data analytics, AI/ML model development, and data engineering in a global financial environment. The intern will work closely with seasoned data scientists to leverage data for performance improvement and business insights while collaborating with multiple stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a supportive and inclusive hybrid work setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Asset Management teams to identify and analyze opportunities for performance enhancement through data science
• Design and implement efficient data engineering pipelines for data retrieval and transformation
• Develop visualizations to clearly communicate analytical insights to various stakeholders
• Participate in building and refining AI/ML models addressing operational risk and sentiment analysis challenges
• Learn and apply analytical tools and techniques under expert guidance
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and prioritize tasks aligned with business needs

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong analytical skills with ability to bring clarity to complex, ill-defined problems
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
• Enrolled in or recently graduated from relevant academic programs such as Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python or R and data visualization tools is advantageous
• Eagerness to learn and develop skills in a professional and inclusive environment
