Job Summary

Bentley Systems is seeking passionate engineering interns specializing in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical fields for the Software Development Internship – 2026. As part of Bentley’s Structural team, selected interns will engage in research, design, and development projects, contributing directly to products and cutting-edge research in finite element analysis and design. This 9-month hybrid internship, based in Pune or Kolkata, provides exposure to real engineering challenges and digital infrastructure solutions while connecting with global experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate on software research and product development in finite element analysis, structural design, and numerical computing
• Engage in research, design, implementation, documentation, and support of product features
• Apply engineering concepts like static/dynamic/non-linear and vibration analysis
• Use industry-standard tools such as STAAD, ETABS, ANSYS, AutoPIPE, MathCAD, and MATLAB
• Develop and test software solutions, with opportunities for C++, C#, FORTRAN, TypeScript, or JavaScript
• Document work and participate in a global, agile development environment
• Present progress and learnings, participate actively in mentoring sessions, and adopt feedback

Qualifications & Skills

• Master’s degree candidates in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, graduating in 2026
• Sound understanding of finite element analysis, static and dynamic analysis, and structural concepts
• Experience with stress analysis and industry tools (STAAD, ETABS, ANSYS, MATLAB, etc.) is a plus
• Any programming experience (C++, C#, FORTRAN, TypeScript, or JavaScript)
• Strong communication skills in English
• Motivated, independent, collaborative, and open to feedback
• Hybrid work from Pune or Kolkata office (3 days per week)
