Job Summary
HackerRank is seeking ambitious Software Development Engineer Interns to join their Bangalore office for a full-time, six-month internship from January to June 2026. Interns will write clean, impactful code and contribute to production features used by millions of developers globally. This role offers hands-on experience with full-stack development, system performance optimization, and rapid prototyping in a high-impact, mission-driven environment. Interns will collaborate with mentors, product, design, and QA teams while building a strong engineering foundation and career portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end full-stack feature development including ideation, prototyping, coding, testing, and launching in production.
- Improve system scale, performance, reliability, and latency with real-world traffic loads.
- Validate ideas through rapid experimentation and metrics-driven iteration.
- Collaborate across product, design, and QA teams in planning and reviews.
- Push continuous improvements and maintain high coding standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Solid foundations in data structures and algorithms.
- Fluency in at least one modern programming language with a focus on readable, maintainable code.
- Understanding of APIs, web services, and databases.
- Strong communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Passion for quality craftsmanship and product impact.
- Active open-source contributors are preferred.
- Additional advantages: AI/ML experience, hackathon wins, side projects, coding challenge experience, performance optimization knowledge.
