Job Summary
This role focuses on developing and supporting Salesforce’s Unified Intelligence Platform (UIP), a modern, cloud-based data platform handling massive data volumes with cutting-edge technology. The engineer will lead architecture, design, and implementation of data and platform services ensuring high performance, scalability, and maintainability. Collaboration across product management, client teams, and third-party vendors is key to delivering scalable and secure solutions that uphold data governance and quality. The position calls for versatility in multiple engineering roles and a commitment to continuous learning and engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, and support critical data and platform services with end-to-end ownership.
- Lead development of metadata-driven data pipelines and services for a multi-cloud petabyte-scale data platform.
- Collaborate with product managers and clients to capture requirements and drive successful scalable solutions.
- Implement security and governance embedded within data solutions.
- Promote service ownership through telemetry, automation, monitoring, and alerting best practices.
- Build data frameworks, quality services, and Salesforce integrated applications for lifecycle management.
- Manage and maintain key UIP tech stack components including Airflow, Spark, Trino, Iceberg, Kubernetes.
- Oversee CI/CD processes for deployment across cloud environments on AWS, GCP, etc.
- Work with external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve platform software issues.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong foundation in software engineering with multi-language flexibility.
- Experience with distributed systems, big data platforms, data lake engines like Spark and Trino.
- Knowledge or experience with Airflow, DBT, Jupyter Notebooks, Sagemaker, Iceberg, Open Metadata.
- Skilled in building scalable data pipelines and platform services on multi-cloud infrastructures.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and growth mindset.
